Founded on March 28, 1998, by James Baumberger, Kathy Lynn Baumberger, and family and friends, this nine-hole gem embodies the spirit of family, golf, and heartland heritage.
Named as a nod to the family’s journey from South Dakota to Indianapolis, Dakota Landing is nestled in Franklin Township, South East Indianapolis. Our founder, James Baumberger, not only serves as the owner but also as a key player in shaping the course’s legacy.
Opened after two and a half years of dedicated work, Dakota Landing boasts a layout that strikes a perfect balance between challenge and camaraderie. Playing 2,667 yards from the back tees, our course offers ample room for both seasoned players and weekend enthusiasts.
It offers scenic views where ponds hug the third, fifth and ninth greens. The signature hole, a 290-yard, par-four fourth, showcases an island green demanding accuracy and skill.

Our Club House extends beyond golf essentials, offering new and used golf balls, gloves, tees, sunglasses, snacks, soft drinks, and, for those 21 and over, a selection of beer and wine .
